Finding lubricants that can perform in vacuum applications has always been a challenge. Often, manufacturers have sacrificed other performance characteristic (load rating; limiting speed; temperature capability; and bearing life) to get some ability to function in a vacuum environment.
UTA has developed a CSL product capable of the same high performance standards in a vacuum that you expect to get from CSL in a normal atmosphere.
To achieve this, UTA uses molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as the base lubricant instead of graphite (graphite is not an effective lubricant in a vacuum). The result is a series of product: CSL250V, CSL450V, & CSL660V that provide exceptional performance in vacuum applications within each product’s intended temperature range. Outgassing is practically non-existent even at elevated temperatures!
