About Cobra Solid Lubricant™ (CSL)

Cobra Solid Lubricant™ (CSL) is a proprietary, dry, graphite based solid lubricant specifically designed for ball and roller bearings, conveyor wheels, and conveyor components. It is a mixture of graphite and binders, prepared in such a way as to allow the mixture to be injected into a clean bearing and then thermally cured to harden the mixture within. The solidified mixture will fill all of the space between the inner and outer races of the bearing, encapsulating the rolling elements and cage.

When the bearing rotates the graphite lubricant moves in conjunction with the cage and rolling elements. Such movement will cause the graphite to deposit on every surface that it touches, leaving a thin film of graphite in it’s path. This thin film of graphite prevents metal to metal contact between the rolling elements and the races, providing a low coefficient of friction.

Unlike common petroleum-based lubricants, Cobra Solid Lubricants™ cannot be washed out by steam or other common solvents, acids, or alkalis except under direct high-pressure stream. CSL will not drip or fling and has virtually no outgassing when used in vacuum applications – even at high temperatures! Paper dust, fly ash, sand or other harsh particles have little opportunity to enter the ball path and clog the bearings. In severe conditions, our environmentally clean lubricants may substantially increase bearing life and eliminate periodic maintenance.

CSL exhibits extraordinary performance even in the most difficult applications. The characteristics of our products allow for great extremes in temperature without any change in starting torque or lubricity.
